Isotonic Supplements - Gluten Free - Very Highly Absorbed
What are they ?
Isotonic Supplements are a group of specialised supplements - vitamins, anti-oxidants, minerals etc which by their very nature mimic a body fluid when mixed correctly. This Isotonic fluid enters into the stomach, where Isotonic receptors recognise this as their own fluids and allows them free passage into the small intestines. Once they hit the small gut, due to their osmolarity (an ability to travel from a high concentration to a low concentration via a semi permeable membrane ) they enter into the bloodstream within 10 minutes with an absorption rate of about 95%. Taking normal supplements in tablet form does not even come close to the power and efficiency of using isotonic supplements... not by a long shot.
The Isotonic supplements that we use, are specified as gluten free, they derive their ingredients from non-gluten sources and contain no wheat, gluten, yeast, soy, salt or milk.
If you have a celiac condition, even if you are able to successfully avoid gluten, there may still be inflammation in the intestines which may impede the absorption of nutrients. We see this so often in clinic. Patients that come in looking drawn, tired and sallow, suffering with other allergy and gut related conditions, even though they have avoided gluten. It does take a lot to realise that the intestinal tract is the nutrient gateway to your bodies functionality. Even if this is impeded marginally it will have a knock on effect in the way it breaks down and absorbs nutrient value from your food, allowing a higher than normal rate of malabsorption. For this reason we always try to supplement our celiac clients accordingly. We have had excellent results from utilising the following protocols Multitech, Calcium and B-12 which can be purchased in Australia at this time. These can be taken twice daily for up to 6 weeks, then reduced to once daily and maintained at this level. The Multitech is a multi spectrum multi vitamin / mineral which allows a rapid cross section of nutrients to enter rapidly into the bloodstream. In addition to this we use the Calcium Plus, again a highly absorbed calcium, so important, as lactose and milk allergies are so common amongst celiac patients, these two latter isotonic's are designed to be taken on an empty stomach. . Finally we have suggested the B-12. This is paramount as B-12 is poorly absorbed with a normal gut function, by utilising an Isotonic B-12 taken this time with food, a very high percentage makes it into the bloodstream, ready to help energy pickup, a healthy nervous system and possible pernicious anemia.
