Description

Heartburn or Reflux is discomfort or pain, usually burning in character, that is felt behind the breastbone in the upper chest - it often appears to rise from the abdomen towards or into the throat. Heartburn can commences approximately half to one hour after eating. What a lot of people may not recognise is that this feeling of pressure and acid buildup in the stomach can often be associated with a fermentation condition as far down in the system as the large colon, causing gas pressure to build up into the the stomach, which in turn causes discomfort, and belching which can be followed with acid burning the esophagus. Identification of these foods therefore can be fundamental in the reduction of these symptoms and may help in the reduction of ant-acid medication where the underlying problem is due to gas / pressure buildup. (prescribed medication should ALWAYS be adjusted by your prescribing healthcare practitioner - no excuses)
